Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Philippine authorities issued a tsunami warning on Friday following a 7.4-magnitude earthquake off the southern island of Mindanao.
Damage and aftershocks were expected as a result of this huge earthquake.
The earthquake occurred at 09:43 (1:43 GMT). It was about 20 kilometers from the town of Manai in the Mindanao region in the southern Philippines.
No human losses or material damage were immediately reported as a result of the earthquake.
This earthquake comes 11 days after a violent earthquake left 74 dead. It also affected about 72,000 on the island of Cebu in the center of the archipelago.
For its part, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the threats from tsunami waves caused by the Philippine earthquake had disappeared. This was after small waves were detected.
