Washington, United States – A number of pro-Palestinian protesters confronted President Donald Trump at a restaurant in Washington, DC.
They described him as “the Hitler of our time”, according to video footage that spread on social media platforms on Tuesday night.
The video showed the US President inside a restaurant, while male and female protesters stood nearby, at least one of whom raised a scarf in the colors of the Palestinian flag.
They chanted: “Liberate Washington, liberate Palestine, Trump is the Hitler of our time”.
Trump approached the protesters and stood for a few moments not far from them, shaking his head and smiling calmly, before signaling to evacuate the place and saying: “Let’s go”.
Then, members of the Secret Service, tasked with protecting the US President, removed them from the scene.
The Republican president (79 years old) rarely goes out to dinner in a public place.
Trump was accompanied by Vice President Jay D. Vance, Defense Secretary Peter Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, Levitt and others.
In one video, Vance appeared shaking hands with people sitting in the restaurant and inviting them to enjoy their meal.
While the voices of protesters against the US President, whose country is Israel’s number one political and military supporter, were rising in the background.
Since the outbreak of war in the Gaza Strip following Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, Western countries have witnessed several pro-Palestinian movements, especially in light of the catastrophic humanitarian conditions witnessed in the besieged and destroyed Palestinian Strip.
Prominent American universities witnessed pro-Palestinian protest movements demanding an end to the war.
The Trump administration accused the administrations of these universities of not providing adequate protection for Jewish or Israeli students during the protests.
It froze financial aid, imposed restrictions on foreign students, and canceled visas.
