Damascus, Syria – Syrian media reported the arrival of a Russian plane to Damascus International Airport carrying a high-level Russian delegation.
The Syrian news agency SANA said that the Russian delegation, headed by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, arrived at Damascus International Airport and included political, economic and security figures.
SANA added that the Russian delegation will meet with a number of Syrian officials and hold talks with them on the economy, security, defense and politics.
Russia and Syria agreed to open a new page in relations between the two countries after a visit by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani to Moscow.
