Washington, USA – Warner Bros. has announced a second delay for the film *The Batman Part II*, pushing its global theatrical release to February 18, 2028—previously scheduled for October 1, 2027. This creates a gap of nearly six full years between the release of the first installment in March 2022 and the new sequel.
Another postponement, following two previous schedule changes.
The film was initially scheduled for release on October 2, 2026, before being postponed to October 1, 2027. The company subsequently announced another delay to February 2028 as part of a reshuffling of its release schedule and to allow the production team extra time to complete post-production—particularly the visual effects.
Robert Pattinson’s first appearance
Despite the news of the delay, director Matt Reeves shared the first camera test footage with the public—revealing Robert Pattinson’s return as Batman in the character’s first official appearance since the new installment was announced—thereby reigniting excitement among the franchise’s fans.
New stars join the film.
The second installment features a star-studded cast—most notably Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, and Charles Dance, alongside Brian Tyree Henry and Sebastian Koch—in a production considered one of the most anticipated films of the coming years.
