Cairo, Egypt – The Gulf artist Abdullah Al-Qarni passed away in the past few hours, after suffering a coma while in Cairo, thus ending a prolific artistic career during which he left a distinctive mark on the Gulf music scene.
Death announcement and a touching message from his family
One of the deceased’s relatives announced his death via his account on the “X” platform, where he wrote: “My dear cousin and brother, Abdullah bin Saeed bin Ayed Al Majdou Al Qarni, has passed away. May God forgive him and all Muslim men and women, have mercy on him and grant him spacious gardens in Paradise, and inspire his family with patience and solace. Indeed, we belong to God, and to Him we shall return. Do not forget him in your prayers.”
A promising artistic start and a strong launch
Abdullah Al-Qarni began his artistic career in the middle of the first decade of the new millennium, before achieving his wider fame after winning the title of the “Gulf Stars” program in 2007, where he attracted attention with his distinctive voice and performance, becoming one of the most prominent young voices in Gulf song.
His name became associated with the song “She Was Gone Eight Years,” which achieved widespread popularity and contributed to enhancing his artistic standing.
A diverse career spanning singing and composing
During his artistic career, the deceased presented many national, heritage and romantic songs, including “Habouh”, “Ya Salam Alaykum Ya Saudia”, and “Aashat Biladi”, and he also participated in a number of artistic and national operettas, most notably “Raya wa Ghaya”, “Ishq Abha”, and “Khaleej Al Khair wal Mahabba”.
Multiple musical talent
Abdullah Al-Qarni’s activities were not limited to singing only, as he also emerged as a composer and oud and piano player, and participated in the supervision and musical execution of a number of artistic works, in addition to his presence in many festivals and events inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, leaving an artistic legacy that will remain present in the memory of his audience and fans.
