Cairo, Egypt – The makers of the new film “Idhma” are holding a special screening this evening at a cinema in the 6th of October area, ahead of its official release as part of the Eid al-Adha film season. The screening will be attended by the film’s stars and creators, along with a large number of film and media celebrities.
A mysterious journey turns the hero’s life upside down
The film revolves around Issa Al-Shawaf, a 36-year-old man whose life is turned upside down after he receives a mysterious letter from his past self 18 years earlier. The letter leads him to a treasure hunt he had completely forgotten about. As memories gradually return, his childhood friend, Sira, reappears in his life, and together they embark on a journey filled with mystery, surprises, and unexpected discoveries.
The film’s stars and creators
The film features a star-studded cast, including Ahmed Dawood, Salma Abu Deif, Jessica Hossam El Din, and Hamza Diab, with a special appearance by actress Basant Shawky. It is written and directed by Mohamed Sadek and produced by Hany Osama (The Producers) in collaboration with Film Clinic and Shofha Production.
Strong competition during the Eid season
“Idhma” enters the Eid al-Adha film season race amidst fierce competition from a number of highly anticipated blockbuster films, blending action, comedy, and suspense, in what is considered one of the strongest film seasons this year. Among the most prominent contenders are “7 Dogs” and “Asad,” with production companies betting on attracting audiences through a wide variety of stories, characters, and large-scale productions, further intensifying the competition at the box office during the Eid period.
