Washington, USA – Director Steven Quale returns to directing after a 9-year hiatus with his new film, Black Box: What Happened to Flight 298, scheduled for release in Egyptian cinemas on June 25.

Cowell’s last film was American Expendables in 2017, while he is best known for disaster and thriller films, particularly Into the Storm and Final Destination 5, which were huge box office successes.
Supernatural thrill and horror
The new film is inspired by the short film “The Vessel” and belongs to the supernatural horror and thriller genre. The story revolves around Vero Airlines Flight 298, en route from New Orleans to Seattle, before the journey transforms into a terrifying mystery, as passengers encounter mysterious phenomena that threaten their lives and reveal unexpected secrets. All events unfold entirely within a fictional framework, with no connection to any real-life aviation incident.
Script and photography
The film is written by Stephen Susco, one of the most prominent horror film writers, who has written successful works such as The Grudge, The Grudge 2, Texas Chainsaw 3D, and Hell Fest. The film was shot entirely in Bulgaria.
