Cairo, Egypt – The Cairo International Film Festival has announced that it is now accepting film submissions for its 47th edition, scheduled to take place from November 11 to 20, 2026. Filmmakers worldwide can submit their entries starting today, April 15, and continuing until August 1, 2026, via the festival’s official website. An early bird application period is also available until May 22.
A prestigious festival under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture
The festival is held annually under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, and is considered one of the oldest cinematic events in the Arab world and Africa, due to its long history and prestigious international standing.
Distinctive international classification
The Cairo International Film Festival is distinguished by being the only festival in the Arab and African region registered in Category A with the International Federation of Film Producers Associations, which reflects its high standing on the map of international festivals.
