Bananas are known for their richness in potassium, the essential mineral that regulates blood pressure/Agencies

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Experts have confirmed that eating bananas before exercise gives the body a boost of energy. This helps it perform better. Bananas also provide support for the muscles, kidneys, and nerves.

Bananas are known for their richness in potassium. This essential mineral regulates blood pressure and helps support kidney and nerve function.

Eating one banana gives 415 mg of potassium, which is part of the recommended daily serving.

The daily calcium intake is 3400 mg for men and 2600 mg for women.

Low potassium levels in the body can lead to convulsions and irregular heartbeats, along with fatigue and weakness.

“Bananas are a convenient and nutritious way to energize your body before exercise,” said Amy Stevens, a sports nutritionist at New York University. “They contain essential nutrients that improve athletic performance, such as potassium and carbohydrates.”

Carbohydrates are a major source of energy in the body.

For effort-intensive sports, such as long-distance running, consuming carbohydrates enhances performance and endurance.

“These extra carbohydrates not only help reduce the likelihood of muscle glycogen depletion and low blood sugar during activity. Moreover, they can also improve endurance,” said nutritionist Christopher Bard.

Bananas are also a rich source of magnesium electrolyte, which improves cardiovascular function and maintains brain health.

Electrolytes play an important role in keeping the body hydrated and facilitating the transmission of signals to the muscles.

Studies have shown that bananas are an easy-to-digest fruit. They are recommended for people who suffer from nausea and digestive problems.

Experts recommend eating bananas 10 minutes to an hour before exercise time, for best results.
