Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Wahda began their journey in collecting points in the ADNOC Pro League, after achieving their first victory this season against their guest Bani Yas with a score of 2-1, in the match that took place on Sunday evening at Al Nahyan Stadium, as part of the conclusion of the third round of competitions.
Al Wahda took the lead in the 23rd minute when Facundo Daniel scored against Bani Yas, before the visitors equalized before the end of the first half through Youssoufou Nketiah in the 42nd minute.
Despite the first half ending in a draw, Al Wahda had more possession of the ball at 67.9%, and also had the upper hand offensively in terms of the number of shots, as its players took 12 shots compared to 6 attempts for Bani Yas.
In the second half, both teams intensified their efforts to win the match, and each coach made a number of changes with the aim of revitalizing the attacking side, but the opportunities that arose during most of the minutes of the half did not result in a change in the score.
As the match was heading towards a draw, Alaa El-Din Zahir appeared at the crucial moment, scoring Al-Wahda’s second goal in the 89th minute, giving his team three valuable points as the final whistle approached.

With this victory, Al Wahda earned its first 3 points in the ADNOC Pro League, while Bani Yas remained without points, after suffering its third consecutive defeat in the competition.
