Dubai, UAE – UAE stock market indices ended last August’s trading higher.The Dubai Financial Market index rose by 0.69%, while the Abu Dhabi Securities Market index increased by 0.94%. Local stock markets recorded gains estimated at about 36.98 billion dirhams, supported by the performance of leading stocks.

The market capitalization of shares listed on the two markets increased from about 3.849 trillion dirhams at the end of trading last July. To approximately AED 3.886 trillion, at the end of Monday’s session (the last session of August 2026), distributed as AED 2.913 trillion for shares listed on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange. And AED 973.14 billion for shares listed on the Dubai market.

Large liquidity

Local stocks attracted liquidity exceeding AED 38.53 billion, distributed as AED 14.61 billion in the Dubai market and AED 23.92 billion in the Abu Dhabi market. This came after trading in 10.57 billion shares, through the execution of more than 765,392 transactions.

The Dubai Financial Market index closed last August, rising by 0.69%, or 40.07 points. It ended trading at 5,836 points, supporting the growth of shares in five sectors led by banks and industry.

Dubai Financial’s market capitalization rose from AED 960.37 billion in the last session last July, to AED 973.14 billion at the end of Monday’s session (the last session in August). The market capitalization gained about 12.77 billion dirhams.

The market’s performance over the past month supported the growth of a number of key sectors, most notably the banking sector, which rose by 2.67%. The industrial sector grew by 2.06%, in addition to the basic materials sector, which recorded a growth of 10.87%. While the luxury consumer goods sector grew by 9.93%, and basic consumer goods by 2.13%.

Last August, citizen investors in the Dubai Financial Market turned to buying, with a net investment of more than 785 million dirhams. After recording purchases worth 6.83 billion dirhams, compared to sales worth 6.05 billion dirhams.

The shares listed on the Dubai market attracted liquidity exceeding 14.61 billion dirhams, after trading in about 4.1 billion shares. 295.28 thousand deals were executed.

Fadji shares rise

In the Abu Dhabi Securities Market, the general market index “Fadji” rose during August trading by 0.94%. Or 92.82 points, to close at 10,453.88 points.

Abu Dhabi Securities’ market capitalization rose from AED 2.889 trillion in the last session of July to AED 2.913 trillion at the end of Monday’s session (the last session of August), with market capitalization gaining about AED 24.22 billion.

The stocks listed on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange attracted liquidity exceeding 23.92 billion dirhams, after trading in about 6.46 billion shares. 470.11 thousand transactions were executed.
