Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Jazira continued their strong start in the UAE Pro League, after defeating Ajman 3-0 in the match that brought them together on Saturday evening at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, as part of the third round of competitions.
Igor Eduardo opened the scoring for Al Jazira in the 45th minute, after finishing off a well-organized attack with a touch inside the penalty area, following a pass from Willian Rocha.
The first half saw Al Jazira’s goal scored by Willian Rocha in the 26th minute cancelled after a VAR review ruled him offside, while Ajman were denied a goal in the 42nd minute when the post blocked Walid Azaro’s shot from inside the penalty area.
In the second half, Al Jazira continued their attacking pressure, and Ajman goalkeeper Ali Al Hosani saved a dangerous shot from Simon Banza in the 57th minute, before clearing another ball from a corner kick three minutes later.
Al Jazira added a second goal in the 68th minute, after Ajman defender Jefferson Yuri accidentally put the ball into his own net, following a cross from Felicio Mendes.
Vinicius Melo almost added a third goal in the 72nd minute, but he shot the ball over the crossbar, before Bono de Oliveira sealed the victory with a third goal in the 86th minute, after he broke through on goal following an attack started by Malcom and in which Vinicius Melo participated.
