Amman, Jordan – Jordanian industrial exports to the UAE recorded a growth of 29 percent, bringing the increase to about 45 million dinars during the first half of this year. This comes as part of a total growth in Jordanian industrial sector exports of 8.9 percent, with a total value of 4.4 billion dinars.
Statistical data issued by the Jordan Chamber of Industry showed that export expansion included several major markets in addition to the UAE. Exports to China increased by 70 percent, to Switzerland by 204 percent, and to Iraq by 16 percent. In addition to the growth of exports to European Union countries by 37 percent.
At the sector level, the chemical and cosmetics industries topped the list of increases, with exports amounting to 1.042 billion dinars, a growth of 11.4 percent. It was followed by the construction industries, which grew by 82.1 percent, and the mining, engineering and information technology, and food industries sectors. Clothing and its accessories also continued to export products worth 806 million dinars, followed by fertilizers and jewelry.
