Konya, Turkey – Konyaspor is close to officially announcing the signing of Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed, after the player and the Turkish club reached an agreement regarding his transfer from French club Nantes during the current summer transfer window.
The Turkish network “HT Spor” reported that Nantes and Konyaspor reached a final agreement for the transfer of Mostafa Mohamed for 750,000 euros, with the value of the deal to be paid to the French club in 3 installments.
Reports indicate that the deal is complete from an agreement standpoint, and only one final step remains before the official announcement, which is the departure of one of Konyaspor’s strikers, in addition to Mostafa Mohamed completing his medical examinations.
The Egyptian striker’s departure from Nantes comes with only one season remaining on his contract with the French club, which preferred to accept the Turkish offer in order to benefit financially from the player’s transfer rather than lose him for free at the end of next season.
Mostafa Mohamed had stayed away from Nantes’ first team training during the pre-season, which prompted the club to impose a financial penalty on him, before deciding to require him to train with the reserve team.
The Egyptian striker has not appeared with Nantes in recent matches in the French league, coinciding with his imminent move to the Turkish league.
Mostafa Mohamed joined Nantes in 2022 on loan from Turkish side Galatasaray, before the French club exercised their option to buy him in June 2023 for €6 million.
