Kalba, UAE – Al Wasl continued their strong start in the ADNOC Pro League, securing their second consecutive victory. This came after they defeated their hosts, Kalba, 3-0 on Friday evening in the second round of the competition.
Al Wasl secured the victory with goals from Ali Saleh, Nicolas Jimenez, and Renato Junior in the 18th, 22nd, and 79th minutes, respectively. This win earns the team three more points, bringing their total to six, and temporarily places them at the top of the league table.
Al Wasl started the match with a clear attacking advantage. They almost opened the scoring early with a powerful header in the 12th minute, but it rebounded off the Kalba goalpost.
The opening goal came in the 18th minute, after Al Wasl were awarded a penalty kick, which Ali Saleh successfully converted into the net.
Al Wasl did not wait long to strengthen their lead, as Nicolas Jimenez managed to add the second goal in the 22nd minute. He scored this goal with a powerful shot that shook the home team’s goal.
Kalba tried to get back into the game during the second half, but Al Wasl maintained their composure and continued to pose a threat to the home team’s goal.
In the 79th minute, Renato Junior ended Kalba’s hopes of a comeback, scoring Al Wasl’s third goal. The visitors thus secured a comfortable 3-0 victory.
Al Wasl increased their points tally to 6 after starting their league campaign with a 5-1 victory over United. Meanwhile, Kalba remain on one point from two matches.
