Dubai, UAE – Emirates International Aluminum Company celebrated the inauguration of the largest aluminum recycling plant in the UAE. The factory represents an important step in the company’s growth in the low-carbon aluminum sector and supports the circular economy in the UAE.
The production capacity of the aluminum recycling plant in Tawila is 185 thousand tons annually.
The factory processes scrap aluminum after consumption, in addition to quantities of scrap before consumption, to produce high-quality, low-carbon alloys and cylinders.
Emirates International Aluminum Company markets it under the brand name Aluminum «Revival» (RevivAL).
The company also produces blends of recycled aluminum with primary aluminum produced using solar energy, which is marketed under the brand “Celestial-R” (CelestiAL-R). With primary aluminum produced using nuclear energy, under the brand name «Minimal-R» (MinimAL-R).

Most of the aluminum scrap produced within the UAE was exported outside the country to be processed. Which led to the loss of a large part of the national economy.
The aluminum recycling plant in Tawila provides the capacity to process this scrap locally. This makes Emirates International Aluminum Company the largest consumer of aluminum scrap in the country.
The construction of the aluminum recycling plant in Tawila took four million working hours and was completed without any injuries that required absence from work.
The project also required more than 26.3 thousand cubic meters of concrete, more than the volume of 10 Olympic-sized swimming pools. In addition to more than 4,600 metric tons of structural steel, equivalent to about two-thirds of the weight of iron in the Eiffel Tower.
