Paris, France – The UAE participated in the second edition of the “Paris Call for a Two-State Solution,” hosted by the French Republic.
The delegation was headed by Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State.
He attended at the invitation of French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot.
The event also saw the participation of leaders from Israeli and Palestinian civil society,
as well as international representatives including diplomats, experts, parliamentarians, and media figures.
The UAE affirms its support for the Gaza peace plan
The event was held within the framework of international efforts to revive the political process
for a two-state solution and enhance prospects for peace and stability in the region.
Discussions also focused on mechanisms for implementing the Gaza peace plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
Ways to support reconstruction and ensure the flow of humanitarian aid were also explored.
During his remarks, Al Marar affirmed the UAE commitment to supporting international efforts to implement the peace plan in the Gaza Strip.
He emphasized the importance of joint action with international partners.
In addition, he stressed the need to ensure progress on a clear political path leading to a sustainable settlement.
He further stressed the UAE’s support for reconstruction and empowering Palestinian institutions to fulfill their roles.
Concern over deteriorating conditions in the West Bank
Al-Murr expressed the UAE concern over the continued deterioration of the situation in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.
amid escalating violence and violations, including settler attacks and settlement activities.
He affirmed that these developments undermine the prospects for peace and a two-state solution.
The UAE stressed that achieving lasting peace requires a clear commitment to the principles of international law.
It also emphasized the need to intensify regional and international efforts to advance the political process,
ensuring an end to the conflict and the establishment of security and stability in the region.
