Dubai, UAE – The Emirates Triathlon Federation announced the participation of 4 athletes from the Emirates in the Ironman “Full Distance” Championship competitions. It is scheduled to take place in the French city of Tours next Sunday.
The UAE is represented in the race by players Bakhit Al-Qurs, Khalifa Al-Darmaki, Mohammed Taymour, and Zayed bin Sudain.
The Ironman race consists of three main stages that require physical effort. The race begins with a 3,800 m swim, followed by a 180 km cycling stage, and ends with a 42 km run.
On the other hand, UAE national team player Charlotte Thurston is participating in the Asian Triathlon Cup and the Asian Junior Cup in Astana. They are scheduled to be held on June 20 and 21 in the Kazakh capital, Astana.
The Federation confirmed that Thurston was selected by the Continental Football Association, following a comprehensive evaluation process for all candidates by the Asian national federations. She was selected based on her proven track record of achievements during the past period.
