Abu Dhabi, UAE – Abu Dhabi Ports Group announced the launch of the trial operation of “Noatom Ports – Safaga Terminal” in Egypt. In preparation for the full operation of the station later this year.
The “Noatom Ports – Safaga Terminal” project is being implemented under a 30-year concession agreement. It was concluded in 2023 with the Red Sea Ports Authority to develop and operate the multi-purpose terminal.

The marine terminal is being developed on an area of 810,000 square metres, and will include a pier wall up to 1,000 meters long. It will be able to handle five million tons of general and dry cargo, one million tons of liquid cargo, 450,000 TEUs, and 50,000 vehicles.
International marine terminal
“Noatom Ports – Safaga Terminal” will be the first international sea terminal in Upper Egypt. To form a vital gateway to the region, strengthening the network linking Egypt, the Middle East, Africa, and global shipping routes.
In April 2026, Nawatom Ports, the Abu Dhabi Ports Group’s arm for operating international ports, announced the arrival of three dock cranes and six rubber bridge cranes to its new multi-purpose terminal in Safaga.
In addition to regional container shipping operations and loading and unloading services, the group recently announced the launch of cruise ship services at three of its stations. In Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Safaga in Egypt, in addition to ferry services between Safaga and Neom ports. To support the movement of workers during the Hajj season between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, the group is also developing the Kizad industrial and logistics zone east of Port Said. In cooperation with its partners in Egypt at the entrance to the Suez Canal on the Mediterranean Sea.
