Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Cybersecurity Council announced a joint strategic cooperation with Nozomi Networks, a global leader in operating technology security (OT) and the Internet of Things (IoT). With the aim of enhancing cybersecurity resilience for critical infrastructure and industrial sectors in the UAE.
This collaboration supports the UAE’s national vision to enhance cyber resilience across operating technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IoT) environments. By providing a deeper level of visibility and advanced threat detection capabilities. Intelligence-based security to protect critical national assets in the energy, utilities, transportation, manufacturing, and smart infrastructure sectors.
Research and development axis
This collaboration extends beyond a bilateral partnership, to include the establishment of a Center for Innovation and Excellence (CoE) in Abu Dhabi. The two parties intend to cooperate to establish a cybersecurity center dedicated to operating technologies (OT) and the Internet of Things (IoT). To be a national platform that contributes to accelerating innovation, enhancing flexibility, and strengthening cybersecurity readiness in the industrial sector.
Based on initial plans, the center will also serve as a research and development (R&D) hub to support the development of advanced solutions and intellectual property and the dissemination of high-impact research in the areas of industrial cybersecurity. In addition to accelerating cooperation with emerging companies and innovative entities in this field.
Priorities for secure digital transformation
The center aims to support the UAE’s ambition to maintain its regional and global leadership in innovation and cyber protection. In line with safe digital transformation priorities, it provides vital support to critical infrastructure operators, government agencies, academic institutions, startups and industry partners. This contributes to protecting national assets in the energy, utilities, transportation, manufacturing, and smart infrastructure sectors.
As digital transformation accelerates in the country’s industrial systems and smart cities, OT and IoT environments have become more interconnected and vulnerable to evolving cyber threats. Through this collaboration, the Cybersecurity Council and Nozomi Networks will work together to help organizations enhance their capabilities to detect, monitor and respond to advanced cyber threats targeting various cyber systems.
