A historic milestone in the Union’s journey

In a speech commemorating the 50th anniversary of the unification of the armed forces,

the President stated that this occasion represents a pivotal historical milestone,

embodying the vision of the founding fathers, foremost among them Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan,

in building a unified military force that supports the stability of the nation and protects its achievements.

He noted that the decision to unify the armed forces in 1976 was a strategic step.

This decision also contributed to consolidating the foundations of the Union and strengthening its defense capabilities.

Praise for the efforts of the armed forces

He praised what he described as the “national epic” written by the armed forces in confronting the recent attacks,

emphasizing that they dealt with the threats efficiently and effectively, setting an example of courage and discipline.

He added that the sacrifices of the armed forces will remain a source of pride and honor,

and will be recorded in the annals of national history as a testament to the strength of the state and the unity of its people.

Strengthening defense capabilities

a strategic objective within the comprehensive development vision,

stressing the importance of national defense industries in supporting the readiness of the armed forces.

He explained that these capabilities represent a fundamental pillar in confronting challenges,

ensuring continued security and stability.

He affirmed that the UAE, despite its constant pursuit of development and peace,

will not compromise on protecting its sovereignty.

He also noted that the armed forces will remain a shield protecting the nation and a sword deterring any threat.

He concluded his address by praying for the martyrs, affirming that

their sacrifices will forever be etched in the nation’s conscience and its journey towards the future.
