Dubai, UAE – Dubai Chambers discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the food and agricultural industries between Dubai and the province of Ontario. It is the largest economy among Canadian provinces, in addition to exploring new opportunities to expand cooperation and develop partnerships between the business communities on both sides. In a way that supports corporate growth and enhances mutual investments.
This came during a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness of the Canadian province of Ontario, Trevor Jones.
The visit comes amid growing trade momentum between Dubai and Canada. The value of intra-oil trade reached 12.6 billion dirhams in 2025, a growth of 23.2% compared to 2024.
The meeting discussed prospects for enhancing cooperation and partnerships between the two sides in various sectors of common interest. Foremost among them are the food trade sectors and agricultural and food technologies.
During the meeting, the Dubai Chambers delegation also reviewed the competitive advantages provided by the emirate to Canadian companies. Including its strategic location, advanced infrastructure, and business-supporting investment environment. Its role as a major gateway providing access to markets in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. In addition to the promising opportunities that future economic sectors in Dubai offer to global investors and companies.
In June of last year, the Dubai World Chamber opened a new external representative office in the Canadian city of Toronto. He formed the Chamber’s first office in North America.
The office plays a vital role in supporting companies in both Dubai and Canada, working closely with the Canadian business community. To strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in the public and private sectors. As well as promoting Dubai’s competitive advantages as a global business destination.
