Tokyo, Japan – Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi strongly condemned the attack targeting the United Arab Emirates. She also expressed Tokyo’s deep concern over the dangerous military escalation in the region.
In a post on the X platform, Takaichi emphasized that Japan is following recent security developments with great concern. These developments threaten the stability of vital waterways and regional security.
Takaichi stated, “We are deeply concerned about the attack targeting the United Arab Emirates and reaffirm our solidarity with our partners in confronting threats to the security of civilians and vital infrastructure.”
She added that Japan, as an economic power heavily reliant on the stability of the Middle East region, will spare no effort in promoting diplomatic solutions.
Regarding future actions, the Prime Minister explained that Japan is currently engaged in intensive summit-level discussions with the countries involved. In addition, Japan is also continuing talks with mediating countries and neighboring powers. The goal is to contain the situation and prevent the region from sliding into a full-blown war.
She emphasized that Tokyo will continue its tireless and necessary diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation. She also stressed the importance of returning to the negotiating table and upholding the principles of international law. This is essential to ensuring the security of navigation and global energy supplies, of which the Gulf region is a cornerstone.
