Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Arab diplomatic scene witnessed intense activity on Tuesday aimed at strengthening joint Arab action. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Jordanian King Abdullah II held separate telephone conversations with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. These calls reaffirmed their unwavering support in the face of regional threats.
Cairo’s full solidarity with Abu Dhabi
The official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, stated that President El-Sisi expressed Egypt’s strong condemnation of the recent Iranian aggression against the UAE, affirming Cairo’s full solidarity with Abu Dhabi and its unwavering support in confronting this attack.
El-Sisi stressed the necessity of intensifying efforts to resolve the crisis and prevent escalation. He also warned of grave repercussions that could affect the security and stability of the entire region.
Jordan alongside the UAE
For his part, King Abdullah II of Jordan condemned the renewed Iranian attacks, affirming the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s support for the UAE in all measures it takes to protect its security and sovereignty.
During the call, the King stressed the importance of maintaining de-escalation in the region and the necessity of respecting the sovereignty and national security of Arab states. These contacts reflect Arab unity in confronting foreign interference. They also send a clear message about the centrality of Gulf security within the comprehensive Arab national security framework.
