Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, received His Excellency Ahmed Al-Sharaa, President of the Syrian Arab Republic,

on Wednesday, during the latter’s working visit to the UAE.

The two leaders held talks focusing on ways to enhance the deep-rooted fraternal relations between their countries.

They also discussed developing cooperation in developmental and economic fields to serve mutual interests.

Both leaders affirmed their shared commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation in a way

that contributes to achieving the aspirations of their peoples for development and progress.

Furthermore, they emphasized the importance of strengthening regional stability in light of current geopolitical challenges.

Coordinating positions on regional issues

His Highness and the Syrian President exchanged views on a range of regional

and international issues of mutual interest, foremost among them the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East.

The two sides discussed the repercussions of these crises on regional and international peace and security.

They also examined their direct impact on international maritime security and the global economy.

The meeting emphasized the importance of strengthening dialogue

and joint Arab action to confront the threats to the stability of the region’s countries

and to address the obstacles hindering development and prosperity for their people.

Syria condemns Iranian attacks

During the meeting, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa reiterated his country’s strong condemnation of

the Iranian terrorist attacks targeting civilians, vital facilities, and infrastructure in the UAE and other countries in the region.

The Syrian president described these acts as a blatant violation of state sovereignty and international laws

and norms. He also stated that they aim to undermine regional security and stability.

He commended the effectiveness of the proactive measures taken by the UAE to safeguard its national security.

Furthermore, he emphasized the commitment to ensuring the safety of all citizens and residents within the UAE.

Future prospects and sustainable cooperation

At the conclusion of their talks, His Highness the President of the UAE and the Syrian President affirmed

their commitment to continuing to work towards building a more advanced

and prosperous future through the strategic partnership between Abu Dhabi and Damascus.

The meeting was attended by a high-level delegation from both sides,

including a number of sheikhs, ministers, and officials.

It was also emphasized that UAE-Syria cooperation represents

a fundamental pillar in the Arab framework aimed at consolidating the values ​​of peace and stability.

Furthermore, it supports initiatives that ensure Arab peoples live in a safe and prosperous environment.
