Antalya, Turkey – Dr. Anwar Gargash, the diplomatic advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates, affirmed that the Antalya Diplomacy Forum represents the first important international event
after the Iran-Iraq War, noting that the current stage requires a precise understanding of the changing political landscape in the region.
Post-war phase
Gargash explained that the forum reflects a broad international interest in exploring the features of the new phase,
in light of regional transformations imposed by the recent war,
stressing that countries are seeking to reassess their positions in light of the new data.
Gulf security priority
He stressed that Iranian aggression against the countries and peoples of the Arabian Gulf
and its repercussions remains at the forefront of the UAE’s priorities,
noting that these developments call for a clear stance that places the region’s security and stability above all considerations.
No return without guarantees
Gargash emphasized that a return to the previous pattern of relations is impossible
without a comprehensive review and genuine transparency, along with guarantees that threats will not be repeated.
He stressed the UAE’s refusal to accept the current state of tension or aggression as a fait accompli.
These statements reflect a UAE approach aimed at reshaping regional relations on foundations of stability
and balance, thereby reducing tensions and enhancing security in the region.
