Vienna, Austria – His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Her Excellency Beate Meinl-Reisinger, Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, during his working visit to the Austrian capital. The two sides discussed ways to strengthen the friendly relations and cooperation between the UAE and Austria.
Expanding vital areas of cooperation
During the meeting, opportunities to expand cooperation in several vital areas were reviewed, most notably the economy, trade, and investment. Discussions also covered industry, culture, and the energy sector. Both sides affirmed that the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries provides a crucial platform for driving bilateral cooperation toward sustainable growth. Furthermore, it contributes to comprehensive development across various sectors.
Regional security and stability
The meeting also addressed recent regional developments, particularly the Iranian missile attacks on the UAE and other countries in the region. Both sides discussed ways to strengthen international efforts to consolidate regional security and stability. In addition, they discussed supporting the aspirations of the region’s peoples for development and prosperity. They emphasized the need to intensify political and diplomatic cooperation to prevent any escalation. Such escalation could threaten regional security.
Attendance of high-level officials
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State, and His Excellency Abdullah Balala, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability. They emphasized the importance of following up on cooperation initiatives between the UAE and Austria. Additionally, they stressed the need to coordinate efforts in the economic, investment, and cultural fields. This will contribute to strengthening bilateral ties. Furthermore, it serves the long-term interests of both friendly countries.
