Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Excellency Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to His Highness the President of the UAE, stressed that Iran, through its ongoing attacks on the UAE and the Gulf states, confirms that Iranian missiles have become a major threat to the countries of the region.
He added that the Iranian regime has lost its compass and is targeting the UAE and other countries that have worked tirelessly to prevent war.
He pointed out that the UAE is a country of strong institutions that will do everything possible to protect its lands, population and economic interests.
His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash said in statements that what the UAE wants from the regime in Iran, whoever it may be, is for it to be a neighbor that respects the country’s sovereignty and does not interfere in its affairs, which is the approach that the UAE is keen on by not interfering in the affairs of other countries.
He said: “We also treat him with such standards. As for what developments are and how Iran is governed, these are matters that concern Iran. My main comment is that Iran, through its ongoing and brutal attacks on the UAE. The Gulf states should send a message that we hope they will not send, and assure us and the international community that the concern is not only the Iranian nuclear program, but even the Iranian missiles. It has become a major threat to us, and this is not from a theoretical perspective, but from the reality we live in today.
His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash pointed out that these attacks also reveal that the Iranian regime has lost its compass. It is targeting the UAE and other neighboring countries that have worked diligently to prevent this war. Consequently, this approach increases its isolation, and it must reconsider.
The home front is strong
His Excellency said: “The home front is united and strong, and there is daily follow-up from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and from every official in the country, and therefore we see that the impact of this crisis could have been more severe in reality. But because of the proactive preparation, because of the professional performance, and because of everyone’s solidarity, we see that dealing with the crisis gives us a reason to know that this country and its institutions are solid, and can play any role, most notably the safety of citizens and residents in the Emirates.
He added: “Iran’s narrative is false, and we see this through random targeting”. Without our own capabilities in the field of air defense, we would have seen worse scenarios, and this creates a huge rift in the relationship, regardless of the regime that rules Iran.
His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash added: “These are matters of trust and mistrust, and confirming that Iran is a threat to the region has become certain”. Therefore, overcoming this issue requires that the Iranian leadership come to its senses immediately.
He stressed that the UAE is a state of institutions and a strong and clear leadership state, and will do everything possible to protect its lands, protect its residents, protect its people, and protect its economic interests.
His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash pointed out the existence of networks, cells and working groups of officials at all levels, working in every field to maintain the normal pace of life in the Emirates.
“From maintaining food security to maintaining daily life, to the business community to the education and health sector,” he said. Of course, the network we are proud of for its performance is the Air Defense, which is doing a very wonderful and professional job that demonstrates the efficiency and professionalism of the UAE Army. There is a whole network at work that you do not see or hear, and everything you see is a product of its work.”
