Dubai, UAE – «Emirates Aircraft Catering» has strengthened its sustainability efforts.

By installing a massive biological system for treating organic waste specifically designed for this purpose.

Which is considered one of the largest systems of its kind in terms of size and production capacity.

A statement issued stated that the new biological system «Power Knot LFC-3000», located within the headquarters of the Central Supply Unit of «Emirates Aircraft Supply», allows organic waste to be treated on site, instead of throwing it in landfills.

The system works with «aerobic digestion» technology, which uses oxygen, heat, and microorganisms to analyze organic waste and convert it into water that can be reused for purposes other than drinking.

Shahriar Nawabi, CEO of «Emirates Aircraft Catering», said: «The use of this system is in line with our firm commitment to preserving the environment in our various activities and operations, as we constantly look at areas where we can make a significant difference, including how we deal with waste by treating it responsibly, diverting it away from landfills, and finding ways to reuse it productively».

Since its launch in December 2025, the organic waste bioremediation system has recorded a significant increase in treatment rates.

It now processes up to 3.5 tons of waste per day on average.

Amid expectations that this capacity will rise to about six tons of food waste per day.
