Dubai, UAE – Aeroflot, Russia’s national airline, has officially announced the resumption of its direct flights to the United Arab Emirates. The airline’s first flight to Dubai took off this morning, Monday, operating at full capacity. This indicates a strong desire among Russian travelers to return to this vital destination.
Flight details and schedule
According to a statement from the company, flight SU520 departed from Moscow Airport at 7:00 AM Moscow time. It is scheduled to land at Dubai International Airport at 2:30 PM Dubai time, after a six-hour flight.
As part of its expansion plan, Aeroflot intends to operate daily scheduled flights to Dubai throughout June. These flights will be increased to two daily flights starting July 1st. To ensure operational efficiency, narrow-body Boeing 737-800 aircraft, capable of carrying between 158 and 162 passengers, will be used. This enhances the company’s flexibility in meeting growing demand. The figures reflect the strength of tourism ties; the UAE recorded 2.35 million visits from Russian citizens last year, 1.72 million of whom were tourists, representing a 17% year-on-year increase.
Positive signs for the summer
For its part, the Russian tourism industry confirmed a significant “postponed demand” for package tours to the UAE. The Intutourist travel agency explained that the UAE now ranks third on the list of most sought-after tourist destinations during the summer season. Furthermore, a positive trend has been observed: Russian tourists are increasingly returning to UAE destinations. This trend reinforces Dubai’s position as a strategic attraction, overcoming previous regulatory challenges. It also underscores the depth of the tourism and economic ties between the two countries.
