Dubai, UAE – Trading in UAE stocks was active on Thursday, with indices heading to compensate for some of the previous declines. Supported by a rise in banking, real estate, utilities and energy stocks, along with selective rises in stocks in sectors with lower index weights.

The Abu Dhabi Securities Market index rose 0.4% to 9,947.75 points. Meanwhile, the Dubai Financial Market index rose 1% to 5,873.75 points during mid-trading.

In the Abu Dhabi market, Aldar Properties shares rose 1.86% to 7.67 dirhams, and Borouj 0.85% to 2.36 dirhams. Space42 shares jumped 5.64% to AED 2.06, while Alpha Dhabi rose 1.37% to AED 7.4.

Ishraq shares also rose 2.6% to AED 0.673, Abu Dhabi Commercial 0.4% to AED 15.1, and First Abu Dhabi 0.1% to AED 19.24. ADNOC Gas rose 0.3% to AED 3.21, Dana Gas rose 1.3% to AED 0.835, while Vertglob rose 3.8% to AED 2.7.

In the Dubai market, Emaar Properties shares rose 2.4% to AED 10.9, and Emirates NBD 1.6% to AED 30.66. “sha’a” rose 3.2% to 0.227 dirhams, while “Diwa” shares rose 1% to 2.75 dirhams.

The gains in the two indices come as trading appetite improves and selective purchases return to a number of leading stocks. Amid investors following the movement of key sectors.
