Abu Dhabi, UAE – During its participation in the activities of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure reviews national policies and initiatives supporting the transition to a sustainable, low-emission energy system.

His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Al Kaabi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for the Electricity, Water and Future Energy Sector, said that Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week reflects the UAE’s commitment to building an integrated national energy system based on sustainability, diversity and efficiency. It translates the national vision into achieving a balance between economic growth and environmental protection, and comes in line with the directives of the wise leadership and the country’s long-term strategies.

He added that the UAE continues to achieve qualitative achievements on the path to transition to clean energy, as integrated national policies and strategic renewable energy projects have contributed to raising the total capacity of renewable energy within the national electricity mix, with a target exceeding 23 gigawatts by 2031.

He stressed that the renewable energy sector is a fundamental pillar of sustainable development and a major driver for building a low-carbon economy and enhancing energy security at the national level.

He said that the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure’s participation in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week confirms its commitment to achieving the goals of the next fifty years in sustaining the energy sector, diversifying its sources, accelerating the transition to clean energy, and consolidating the country’s position as a leading global model in building a safe, sustainable, and low-emission energy future.
