Gaza, Palestine – Hamas announced on Sunday that it had not received any new proposals regarding the matter from mediators.
She also confirmed her readiness to study any proposal she receives from mediators “with all positivity and responsibility”.
The movement said in a press statement today that negotiations have been stalled since the failed Israeli assassination attempt on the movement’s leaders in the Qatari capital, Doha, on September 9.
On Saturday, Hamas denied a report published by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz regarding its receipt of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan in Gaza.
Haaretz quoted sources as saying that Hamas had agreed in principle to release all Israeli detainees.
This is in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces under Trump’s plan.
The newspaper added that the proposal also included ending Hamas’ rule in Gaza, and Israel’s agreement not to annex the Strip or displace Palestinians residing there.
A Hamas official, who requested anonymity, told Reuters on Saturday that the movement had not been presented with any plan.
