Kutahya, Turkey – An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale struck the western state of Kutahya. The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority said this on Sunday.

Authorities said the earthquake’s epicenter was in the state’s Šimšek (Simav) district.

She pointed out that the earthquake was felt by residents of several major cities, including Istanbul, Izmir and Bursa.

In addition to a number of neighboring states.

No human losses have yet been recorded. However, there have been reports of minor injuries and panic among citizens who rushed to the streets.

Minor material damage was also reported to some old buildings.

Turkey is located on active fault lines, making it one of the countries in the world most vulnerable to earthquakes.

This earthquake brings back fears of a possible Istanbul earthquake. Experts warn that it could be devastating if it occurs in the future.
