Tel Aviv, Israel – The Israeli army officially announced the details of the strike directed at Hamas leaders in Doha.
At their head was Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas in Gaza, on Tuesday afternoon.
The Israeli Army Radio said that the Israeli army and the Shin Bet “attacked, through the air force, a short while ago. This was done in a precisely directed manner targeting the leadership of the Hamas movement.”
The statement read: “The Hamas leadership leaders who were targeted have led Hamas activities for years. They bear direct responsibility for committing the October 7 massacre and conducting the war against Israel.”
The statement added: “Prior to the raid, steps were taken to avoid civilian casualties. This included the use of precision ammunition and additional intelligence.”
Sources confirmed that the explosion in Doha targeted a meeting of Hamas leaders abroad.
Israeli Channel 12, citing Israeli officials, said this was a “retaliatory operation” against Hamas leaders in Doha.
