Ipswich, England – Liverpool achieved their first victory in the English Premier League this season, after defeating their host Ipswich Town 2-0, in the match that brought them together at Portman Road Stadium as part of the third round of the competition.
Liverpool had only managed draws in their first two matches against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest, both with a score of 2-2, before finally securing their first three points of the season.
Alexander Isak settled the match early, scoring Liverpool’s two goals in the sixth and ninth minutes, giving his team a clear advantage from the start of the match.

The match saw the debut of Frenchman Bradley Barcola in a Liverpool shirt, after he came on as a substitute during the second half, following his transfer to the team from Paris Saint-Germain.
With this win, Liverpool raised its tally to 5 points in fifth place in the English Premier League standings, while Ipswich Town’s tally remained at 3 points in thirteenth place.
