Al Ain, UAE – Al Ain continued their strong start in the ADNOC Pro League, defeating hosts Kalba 2-0. The match took place today at Kalba Stadium as part of the fourth round of fixtures.
Al Ain decided the match in the first half, after Abdulkarim Traore scored the opening goal in the 22nd minute. Then Baba Ayello added the second goal in the 32nd minute. Thus, “The Boss” maintained its consecutive victories.
Al Ain raised its tally to 12 points at the top of the ADNOC Pro League standings, while Kalba’s tally remained frozen at one point.
Al Ain asserted their dominance during the first half, possessing the ball 56.6% of the time, and taking 11 shots, including 4 shots on goal.
The first goal came after a well-worked team move, finished off by Traoré with a shot into the net. Ten minutes later, Baba Ayilo doubled Al Ain’s lead with a shot from inside the penalty area.
Kalba almost narrowed the gap before the end of the first half, but Khalid Eisa made a brilliant save to deny Ahmed Noorallahi’s shot.
In the second half, Al Ain continued to threaten the home side’s goal and came close to adding a third. However, Kalba goalkeeper Sultan Al Mandhari saved Eric’s shot from inside the penalty area.
Kalba tried to get back into the game during the final minutes, but Al Ain’s defense and goalkeeper Khalid Eisa kept a clean sheet, and the match ended with the visitors winning 2-0.
