Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Gamba Osaka of Japan won the AFC Champions League title, defeating Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia 1-0 in the final match held Saturday evening at Al-Awwal Park Stadium.
Dennis Hammett scored the only goal of the match for the Japanese team in the 29th minute, with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area that found the back of the net. This victory led Gamba Osaka to the continental title after a hard-fought match against the home team.

Despite losing the continental title, Al-Nassr still has a chance to finish its season perfectly, as it is close to clinching the Saudi League title. It currently leads the standings with 83 points, two points ahead of Al-Hilal before the final round of the competition.
Al-Nassr is scheduled to face Damac next Thursday evening, in the 34th and final round of the Saudi League, in a match that could decide its crowning as local champion.
