Abu Dhabi, UAE – The match between Shabab Al Ahli and Al Wahda ended in a 1-1 draw, in the postponed match from the 16th round of the UAE Pro League, which was held on Saturday evening at Rashid Stadium.
Match events
The first half was marked by great caution from both teams, with play concentrated in the midfield and few dangerous opportunities, before Matheus Dias Lima succeeded in giving Shabab Al Ahli the lead in the 45th minute, after a superb pass from his teammate Guilherme da Silva.
In the second half, Al Wahda intensified their attacking efforts in search of an equalizer, and succeeded in achieving it in the 59th minute after Kon Santos Silva scored an own goal.
Both teams tried to snatch a winning goal during the remaining minutes of the match, but the score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
Team standings
With this draw, Shabab Al Ahli raised their points tally to 43, maintaining their second-place position in the league standings. Al Wahda, meanwhile, reached 34 points, remaining in third place.
