Rabat, Morocco – The Egyptian national team will play a crucial match in the round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, currently being held in Morocco, against Benin.

Egypt will meet Benin tomorrow, Monday, at Adrar Stadium, in the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The winner of the Egypt-Benin match is scheduled to meet the winner of the Ivory Coast-Burkina Faso match in the quarter-finals.

Egypt aims for an eighth title against the ambition and challenge of Benin in the Africa Cup of Nations

Egypt will face Benin, with the Pharaohs harboring great ambitions to continue their journey towards regaining the Africa Cup of Nations title, which has been absent from their trophy cabinet since the 2010 edition, which the team won for the seventh time in its history.

The Egyptian national team enters the match with high confidence and morale after advancing from the group stage as the top team in their group.

The Egyptian national team is also armed with its great continental experience, as it is the most decorated team in the competition, as well as its international players such as Mohamed Salah, the star of Liverpool FC, and Omar Marmoush, the Manchester City striker.

He is seeking to achieve his eighth title and strengthen his record, especially after the strong performance he showed during the group stage.

The Egyptian national team succeeded in reaching the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations, after topping the group standings with 7 points.

On the other hand, the Benin national team is looking to achieve another major upset, surpassing its most notable achievement in the tournament by qualifying for the quarter-finals.

The match between Egypt and Benin is expected to be a fierce contest, as both teams are eager to impose their style of play, secure qualification for the quarter-finals, and take another step closer to the continental title.

Hossam Hassan, the coach of the Egyptian national team, stressed the strength of the Benin national team, after they reached the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations.

He also stressed that the Pharaohs are ready to win the match and that the Egyptian national team has the best player in the world, Mohamed Salah.
