Cairo, Egypt – Spanish press reports have revealed new developments regarding the transfer of Hamza Abdel Karim, the young striker of the Egyptian Al-Ahly club, to the ranks of the Spanish Barcelona club, during the current period.
According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the transfer of Hamza Abdelkarim to Barcelona has entered its final stages. This comes after the Catalan club increased its financial offer from €1.25 million to €1.5 million.
The newspaper added that the new offer included additional bonuses linked to the player’s performance with Barcelona, bringing the total value of the deal to 5 million euros, an amount exceeding the 3 million euros that were initially negotiated between the two parties.
Mundo Deportivo explained that Al Ahly is close to finalizing the updated offer, especially after it also included raising the percentage of future resales from 10% to 15% in favor of the Red Devils.
The newspaper indicated that this offer may be the last and final one from Barcelona to finalize the deal to sign the 18-year-old player.
Barcelona had offered to loan the player for six months free of charge, with an option to buy him permanently at the end of the season for €1.25 million, plus add-ons that could reach €4 million depending on the striker’s performance.
Barcelona’s interest in signing Hamza Abdelkarim stems from the long-term injuries plaguing their attacking duo, Victor Barbera and Oscar Gesto. This has prompted the club to seek reinforcements for their forward line during this period.
