Rabat, Morocco – The picture has become clearer regarding the opponent of the Egyptian national team in the round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, currently being held in Morocco.
Egypt is scheduled to face Benin in the round of 16, after Benin finished third in their group and qualified as one of the four best third-placed teams.
Benin qualified despite losing to Senegal 3-0 in the match that took place this evening at Ibn Battuta Stadium, as part of the third and final round of the group stage.
The Egyptian national team had secured qualification to the round of 16 as the first team, after topping the standings of Group B with 7 points, following the end of the group stage.

Egypt is scheduled to meet Benin in the round of 16 next Monday, January 5, 2025, at 6 pm Cairo time, 7 pm Mecca time, and 8 pm UAE time.
