Abu Dhabi, UAE – Al Ain achieved a resounding victory over Al Nasr with three goals to nil, in the match that brought them together today, Friday, in the Professional League Cup.

Al Ain visited Al Nasr at Al Maktoum Stadium for the first leg of the semi-final of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup.

Al Ain started the match strongly, with Soufiane Rahimi squandering a clear scoring opportunity in the eighth minute. This came after a cross from Amadou Niang on the right wing, which Rahimi met with a shot that was saved by the Al Nasr goalkeeper and went out of play.

Matias Palacios also wasted a second chance for Al Ain in the 20th minute, after a pass from Soufiane Rahimi, which he met with a shot from inside the penalty area, but the Al Nasr defender brilliantly blocked it.

In the 41st minute, the referee showed Milivojevic a red card after he protested the yellow card.

Soufiane Rahimi succeeded in putting Al Ain in the lead in the 49th minute, after scoring the first goal, with a powerful shot that found the back of the net.

In the 65th minute, Kodjo Laba missed a penalty for Al Ain, his shot down the middle of the goal saved by the goalkeeper. However, the referee ordered a retake due to the Al Nasr goalkeeper’s premature movement.

In the replay, Laba succeeded in scoring it into the net, announcing Al Ain’s second goal.

Rafael Vela completed the leader’s three goals in the 75th minute, after a pass from Laba which he met with a shot that found the back of the net.
