Egypt’s national team began its journey in the 2025 Arab Cup with a draw against Kuwait, with each team scoring one goal, in the match that brought them together today, Tuesday, as part of the opening round of the 2025 Arab Cup.
Egypt’s national team met Kuwait at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar, as part of the first round of Group C matches in the Arab Cup.
Egypt posed a threat to Kuwait in the first half, missing a penalty kick in the 38th minute, after Amr El Solia shot the ball near the right post.
Kuwait’s national team succeeded in scoring the first goal in the 64th minute, through Fahad Al-Hajri, after a cross from Mohammed Daham that Al-Hajri met with a header that went into the net.
In the 83rd minute, the referee awarded a penalty kick to the Egyptian national team after a strong tackle and obstruction by the Kuwaiti goalkeeper on Marwan Hamdi inside the penalty area.
Mohamed Magdy Afsha successfully executed the penalty kick in the 87th minute, thus equalizing for the Egyptian national team.
Egypt continued to attack Kuwait strongly in order to add a second goal, but to no avail, and the match ended in a draw with a score of (1-1).
With that result, each team earned one point in the standings of Group C, which also includes the UAE and Jordan.
Morocco defeats Comoros 3-0
The Moroccan national team managed to achieve a great victory over their counterparts from the Comoros Islands, with three goals to one, in the match that brought them together in the opening round of the Arab Cup.
The Moroccan national team met the Comoros Islands at Khalifa International Stadium, as part of the first round of group stage matches for the Arab Cup.
Morocco took the lead with the first goal in the fifth minute, scored by Soufiane Bouftini.
The goal came after a corner kick from the left, which was met with a header that found the back of the net.
Tariq Tissoudali added Morocco’s second goal in the 11th minute, before Karim El Berkaoui added the third goal in the 45+4 minute.
Morocco’s Mohamed Bou Laksoute reduced the score for the Comoros in the 56th minute, by mistake, with an own goal.
With that result, each team earned one point in the standings of Group B of the Arab Cup.
