Cairo, Egypt – The UAE national team suffered a heavy defeat against their Senegalese counterparts, losing 5-0 in the match that took place between the two teams on Sunday evening, as part of the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The UAE national team met Senegal at Stadium No. 5 in the Aspire Zone in Qatar, as part of the third and final round of the group stage of the World Cup.

The first goal for Senegal was scored by Malik Cisse in the 14th minute from a penalty kick.

Meanwhile, Babakary Sonko scored three goals in the 19th, 41st and 60th minutes respectively.

Victor Etienne Mendy completed Senegal’s five-goal haul in the 74th minute, securing three valuable points for his country and putting them at the top of the group standings.

Meanwhile, the UAE national team finished last in the group and exited the FIFA U-17 World Cup from the group stage.

The UAE national team began its journey in the group stage with a draw against Costa Rica with a score of (1-1), before losing in the second round with a score of (3-0) against Croatia.

Senegal qualified for the round of 32 as group leaders with seven points, with Croatia as runners-up with the same number of points after their 3-1 win today over Costa Rica, who are in third place.

The top eight third-placed teams qualify for the knockout stages.
