Cairo, Egypt – Former Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney continued his vicious attacks on Mohamed Salah, Liverpool star and Egypt national team captain, following the team’s recent poor results.
Liverpool continued their disappointing run of results, suffering their fourth consecutive Premier League defeat against Brentford.
“Three or four weeks ago, no one would have predicted this decline for Liverpool,” Rooney told Sky Sports. “They were hit quickly, it hit them hard, and I think they’re struggling to find a way out.”
He added: “This is the time when the coach and the team leaders need to figure this out very quickly.”
He continued: “Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah signed new contracts, but I don’t think they really led the team this season, through performance and body language.”
He stressed: “Body language tells you a lot, and I think we notice a slight difference in their body language. They are the best players on the team. If their body language isn’t right, it affects everyone.”
The former England striker concluded his statements: “If I was a Liverpool fan or the team’s manager, this would be a major concern for me.”
