Geneva, Switzerland – Slovenian Tade Bogachar, a cyclist for the Emirates-XRG team, maintained his lead in the overall standings in the 2026 Tour de Romandie. Despite finishing fourth during the third stage held on Friday.

The stage witnessed a strong race that ended with a speed race for a limited group of 34 riders, which was won by Frenchman Dorian Godon, from the Ineos Grenadiers team. New Zealander Finn Fisher-Black came in second place, and Frenchman Valentin Barré-Pantre came in third.

Pugachar managed to finish the stage in fourth place after a strong performance in the final meters. He kept the yellow jersey 17 seconds ahead of German Florian Lebowitz, who is in second place overall, while Frenchman Lenny Martinez came third, 26 seconds behind.

The Emirates team imposed a balanced rhythm during the race, as it succeeded in controlling the pace of the main group. Before several teams intervened, including Red Bull-Bora-Hansgro, Liddell-Trick and Ineos Grenadiers. To return the race to the starting point in the final kilometers. Which paved the way for the decisive scenario through final speed.

After the stage, Bogachar confirmed that the team dealt intelligently with the course of the race. Explaining that the focus was on maintaining the effort in preparation for the next two crucial stages. Pointing out that the competition in the final meters was strong, especially with the distinguished start of the stage winner.
