Washington, DC – Facebook celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Marketplace service by announcing a new app specifically for sellers.

This move aims to streamline sales operations and enhance the user experience, coinciding with the continued growth of e-commerce on social media platforms.

The company explained that the new app provides sellers with more advanced tools to manage products and ads, track orders and messages, and improve communication with buyers.

This helps both shop owners and individuals manage their businesses more efficiently through a single platform.

New and used products

The app’s launch comes a decade after the launch of Marketplace, which has become one of the largest online buying and selling platforms,

allowing users to list new and used products, search for goods in nearby areas, and connect directly with buyers and sellers.

The company confirmed that the new updates focus on simplifying the user experience, improving inventory management tools,

and providing more options to help sellers track the performance of their ads and products, thereby increasing their chances of reaching customers and closing sales.

Growing demand for digital commerce

Technology experts believe that Facebook aims to strengthen its position in the e-commerce market with this move,

amidst increasing competition from specialized platforms, by providing more integrated solutions for individuals and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The new application is also expected to encourage more users to rely on Marketplace as a source of income,

especially given the growing popularity of digital commerce and the proliferation of direct online sales across various markets.

Meta, Facebook’s parent company, continues to develop its commerce services and integrate them into its digital ecosystem as part of

a strategy to expand its presence in the e-commerce sector and offer innovative tools that support sellers and provide users with a more convenient and secure shopping experience.
