Aden, Yemen – Fierce clashes erupted on Sunday morning on the western fronts of Taiz, a city in western Yemen, between Yemeni National Army and Popular Resistance forces on one side, and Houthi militias on the other. Videos and audio recordings documenting the intensity of the fighting in Taiz circulated on social media. Meanwhile, government forces successfully thwarted several infiltration and attack attempts.
The fronts of Mount Han and Madarat are under fire
Military and local sources reported fierce clashes on the Jabal Han and Madarat (or Madarat) fronts west of Taiz. Fighting also erupted around the 35th Brigade and in the areas of Al-Barah and Jabal Habashi. Videos circulating on social media platforms documented the sounds of heavy fighting and the use of light and medium weapons. Additionally, eyewitness accounts described the ferocity of the clashes, in which Yemeni army forces repelled Houthi advances.
The Yemeni National Army announced it had thwarted a failed infiltration attempt by Houthi elements to advance on the Al-Anin front in Jabal Habashi district, west of the province. The official news agency Saba quoted a military source as saying that the clashes resulted in the death and injury of three Houthi fighters. As a result, the battle forced the remaining elements to retreat and flee.

Field reports confirm that the National Army and Popular Resistance forces are maintaining their firm deployment and holding their positions across the western front lines. At the same time, these forces have declared their complete readiness to decisively respond to any new offensive movements or infiltration attempts by the militias.
