Erbil, Iraq – Iraqi authorities announced that the cities of Erbil and Sulaimaniyah in the Kurdistan Region were attacked by three drones. They confirmed that the incident resulted in no casualties. Security forces have launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible.
Security sources stated that air defenses and security measures were implemented to counter the drones. Security forces were also deployed around the targeted locations to secure the area and prevent any further threats. This comes amidst a state of heightened security alert.
She indicated that the attack caused limited material damage, with no injuries reported among civilians or workers at the targeted sites. Meanwhile, technical teams are continuing to assess the extent of the damage and conduct field surveys.
The relevant authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the drones’ flight path and launch site. Furthermore, necessary measures are being taken to enhance the protection of vital installations and sensitive facilities in the region.
